Another big SY box for the holiday. SY308 is based from a Lego set. Once again, robot seems to be a kids favorite, very quickly my son already completed the big Sentinel and the 4 X-Men minifigures. The plane that comes together with this set is called the X-Jet, or Blackbird. Although having some resemblance of the X jet Blackbird and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird which holds the official Air Speed Record for a manned jet aircraft with a speed of 3,530 km/h (2,193 mph), the model is a bit short and fat looking from side view. Anyway, still a great brick toy replica.
The piece count is just 356+ pieces, due to the many big pieces which goes to the building of the X-Jet. Sentinel is actually not really that big (approx. 4.5" tall), but its fingers are movable. The real big one is the X-Jet (about 10" long), and it is solidly built with many custom pieces. Most of the minifig are repeated from previous 8 box minifig set. Although SY gave alternate headpiece for Wolvie and Magneto, but Wolvies's face is kinda !!! without the mask. Cyclops is nice in dark blue suit. As usual, comic book not included.
