KSZ 714 General Grievous Ultra Build

KSZ “ultra build” figure of General Grievous (GG) really do make a fine addition to my bootleg toy collection. The box is much bigger than the similar ultra builds of Jango Fett, Comm. Cody and even Vader. Price is also “bigger”.

GG is completely cybernetic except for his brain, some vital organs, and parts of his head, As George Lucas says, GG is sort of 20% alien and 80% robot, hence this actually makes the build almost resembles the actual character as GG is skeletal like with armor pads as body.
The figure is close to a foot tall (30cm), to match this Kaleesh cyborg's real physical form which  towers at 2.16 meters and weigh 159 kg. With piece count at over 200 pcs, it is an interesting build. Comes with four “glow in the dark” light sabers

Due to the heavy top portion of the figure, it is quite hard to stand the figure in certain poses as some of the joints are quite loose. I believe ori Lego will have better ball joints, but still due to the figure’s center of gravity, it can easily toppled. With a high price tag, KSZ should include more “body pads” to cover the back portion to make it look better when viewed from the back. No cape included for us to cover up the back either.(GG in combat mode do not wear any cape). Anyway, still an Awesome figure - for display, not for play!

SY503 and SY504 Star Wars - Battle Packs

Bought two SY Battle packs which follow the design from ori Lego. Just expect SY quality, those Technic parts are quite tight, but the complete model is good enough. Did not get the remaining other 2 sets, Clones troopers (no stock) and Shadow troopers - already bought the LEGO set- 3x the price of SY, but the fitting quality is much better. But if you in earning in US dollars, comparing the numerical value disregarding the currency exchange, the US dollar number is lower.

SY503B Geonosis Troopers (follow Lego 75089). Like that walker. The rapid fire works, unlike the guns.

SY504A Senate Commando Troopers (follow Lego 75088). The big Senate cannon is not really my favorite, but it does have a lot of moving angles and a workable rapid fire. Again, most of the gun fires miserably. SY really is not good making these guns.

KSZ Star Wars buildable Figure

Previously I have seen KSZ released these Star Wars build able figures before, but only the Bionicles series came to my place. Maybe now since the force has already "Awakens", the street peddler somehow did get a few boxes to sell. I only manage to get two boxes, and its not as cheap compare to previous similar Avengers series. GST or currency? Or time for me to source for another vendor. Like this two builds.

LeLe Ant Man

LeLe came out with its 6 box minifig of Ant Man. As I already bought the OK brand, hence did not get most of them, just three. I compare the movie ant man of LeLe vs OK, somehow it is different. I thought LeLe and OK are both the same brand. Good ides from LeLe on building a BIG single stud brick (with LeLe word) out of bricks.

This week the cable TVa shows all 6 episodes of the Star Wars saga, too bad it is during the day time (working time). Anyway, I have watch it all. Stumble upon this LEGO Star Wars poster in the internet. Imagine if one were to buy all the characters in the posters (include the ships), how much will it cost. Till now I do not even have Luke Skywalker. Who knows, bootlego may be coming out with an old Luke.
LEGO Droid tales is also showing, retelling the saga in LEGO humor style.

Hot Wheels , Vader Sabers and Mask

Bought some Hot Wheels car for my kids. Both my boys always like cars. The younger one says his big brother has many cars, but he only has less than 5, mostly pass downs. Hence, bought 10 of them and equally shared among them two.

At the same time got a Vader Saber. It is the older flick and extend saber, the new ones has light (need batteries) but double the cost.  Really makes one wants to be a Jedi. Bought a cheap Vader mask.

Later I got two cheap Light Sabers with lights and sound and a StormTrooper mask. Man, they are good for a cheap product. The saber is made from soft plastic, hence it can withstand impact  during fights as well as not really hurt when got hit. Its sort of have some some build in sensors where it will simulate the light saber hitting sound during impact, and if there are no activities, it will shut down by itself. (after 1 year if play time, a bit dented, it still function very well)

The Force Awakens

Went to watch the new STAR WARS movie Episode VII The Force Awaken.

Watch in Dolby ATMOS cinema sound, where sound comes from all directions, including overhead ( I do saw a lot of overhead speakers) to fill the cinema with clarity, richness, detail, and depth. The sounds of the onscreen story suppose to move all around us in three-dimensional space, making us feel like we’re inside the action. Somehow I feel the sound experience is not really that mesmerizing apart from the initial DolbyATMOS intro, or I am old-deaf. Still John William's opening theme really bring back the force inside me.

Star Wars 7-TFA, I believe is to create a new generation of Star Wars fans, with new heroes (especially heroine), villains , droids, redesign spaeships, a bigger Death Star and a new "Yoda" , but  it's also a nostalgic trip bringing us back 30 years younger.

I like Rey a lot, Stormtrooper FN-2187 Finn and Poe is good too. These three characters believe is meant to stand side by side to Luke, Solo and Leia, The rolling Astromech BB-8 is great; R2-D2, sure have a tough competition.
When the Millennium Falcon comes out for the first time in this movie, the full Force of Star Wars nostalgia really hits me.

One will also see some changes of some original space ships from the earlier Star Wars, like a black X-Wing and a redesign Star Destroyer : Finalizer. ....and, a much-much bigger Death Star.

As for the villain Kylo Ren, there is just no substitute for the Sith Lord - Darth Vader.

A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away ....

Although I am still living in the sane Galaxy, it was really a long time ago since my first Star wars movie. I remember I was not really a big fan of Star Wars back then, I think those droids and laser beams are the main attraction to me then. Episode V comes with a revenge and shown during the time when I am in my movie fanatic era. Since then I have love Vader and the Imperial forces (yes, I am more to the Dark Side)

SY602 Transformer 4

Transformer 4 movie has been out since last year. Only now SY release their Transformer minifig, is it a bit out of time? I did saw SY released their Transformer minifig quite some time before from the internet, but it did not arrive to my place, nor did I see it at any other retail places either. Is this an old release with a new packing?
The printing quality is great, although very less color variance (metalic grey and yellow). An 8 minifig set, one of them is Golden Optimus Prime similar to Kreo's but with Lego minifig body.  Bumblebee has the face features from the T4 movie, unlike KreO's, Compare to earlier Transformer minifig releases, this is way much better, but some of the Decepticons and Autobots have quite similar heads.

Funny, DLP has a similar release. Even the side builds are similar. Is DLP and SY related???

DLP9003 Ultraman minifig

DLP  DuoLePin, This is the 2nd set of minifig I bought from this brand. They came out with an Asian Superhero , Ultraman; 6 minifig set. Famous Japanese super hero, many Asian kids love Ultraman.  I like Ultraman, but I do not know their names well. DLP have better printing than JLB (earlier Ultraman minifig release). Plastic quality is not bad, apart from the hands, i did not find any other too loose or too tight fittings.

SY 292 - Transparent Ninjago (Jungle robe)

Another transparent set, another Ninjago set. This time it is the trusted brand SY. Did not get all the boxes in this 8 minifig set, only a few of them. They are in their Jungle Robes variant similar to SY282, only transparent..
Those skeletons are the same design as SY 282 earlier Ninjago release, only these are in single color and glows in the dark. SY also releases the first Super Heroes set  (Avengers Marvels and DC) in transparent form, but I do not really like it, hence I skip the hero set.

SY291 Chima5

SY releases the Chima minifigs again, the Fire vs. Ice  Battle - SY291 Chima5. Been quite awhile my kid did not watch the Chima series, but my elder son still knows that those Ice guys are the bad guys. SY always have good Chima minifigures set. The minifigs always has a unique "head" and awesome weapons, and cool HOT wings.

Sembo block - Pokemons

Sembo blocks - micro block following the nano block designs, or diamond block from LOZ. My son loves Pokemon, so, got all the available Pokemons on the shelf for him. I do not know in actual how many Pokemon designs were released by Sembo, but I do see some other releases from the internet. Sembo is said to be from Seng Yuan, although quality is acceptable, still those single stud connection is loose. The outer box shows clearly what's inside, so not to worry.

Another new brand, GUDI. Is is as good as it sound? (Goody)
The design is animation Bumblebee in Brick form. Price wise, not so Goody, somehow SY mech releases is cheaper with almost similar piece count. Well, plastic is okay, finished outlook is good, but the design is not so brilliant as it is hard to make Bumblebee stand up properly due to the connection is just too weak to support his body. Many connection is either single or dual studs, hence easily come off when we are articulating the joints, even just holding it.  Anyway, it is a 2 in 1, where one can build the car instead of the Autobot. Believe the car will be sturdier.

SY 361B - Cap A mech

The final mech from SY initial 4 mech releases - Cap A with a Big Shield. Similar build with similar platform base. Come with Cap A and one AOU blue Ultron  minifig.
Yep, another Ultron minifig. Better don't ask SY; "Is that the best you can do?" -  you may end up with more Ultrons! in future releases.

Sembo Block Micro sized building block

Sembo Block -  a new brand to me. But I read from the net they are a.k.a Sheng Yuan, but copy Nano block as well as Loz designs. Plastic wise, good. Fitting, good also, but if one is not going to take the finish model apart, recommended to glue the small single stud connection portion as they will easily come off.
I bought the Micro Block Animals and Pokemon releases. Those that have bought LOZ will see some similarity. Here's the animals first.....

HSANHE 6209 - Creative

Once awhile there some brick brands that is quite good in quality. Hsanhe's fitting and plastic is quite consider good. The finish model have some loose parts (even SY have), but believe it is due what we are building, which here it is a SD Gundam typed of robot. Believe if we use this bricks to build a different design, it will be better
The outer box listed 4 in 1, where we can build three different design Gundam, and two different aircraft. Well, yes - we can build 4 design, but the catch here is we can only build them separately and not 4 at once.  Okay, we can build the 2 mini aircraft at the same time, but the SD Gundams have to be build one at a time. Yep - need to dismantle the previous before we can build another design, that is why they equipped us with two brick removal tool. If we buy another box, we can build a big Gundam.

LELE 79025 Star Wars

I thought LeLe named their Star Wars releases as Star WarT, but this release actually have the STAR WARS in its original Font.
6 box set, 2 astromechs, 3 troopers and the one minifig Ahsoka Tano ; which I believe will be the "chosen one" people will only buy and ignore the rest of the 5s if given the option. Surprisingly Ahsoka came with dual faces, although it look almost the same, just a smirk difference. LeLe
The astromechs are one dark R2Q5 (don't see any other brand have this yet) and one simplified R2D2 looking astromech (kinda like R2D2 black series). Funny the astromech platform is a green panel with flowers. Well, LeLe is not well known for their printing, so, do not expect details.
