SY281 Spider Man

Got this in 2 places as I thought the usual place I patron is not selling this set. Another release of Spiderman. Really find this set quality better vs. the previous first release. The only one minifig I did not get is the usual Spider-man. (as it is same as the recent SY220 bike Spidey)

SY285 NinjaGo - Deepstone Armor

Another Ninjago set from Sheng Yuan. Got all 8 boxes in this set. I have been getting quite a number of Ninjago variants. The torso print is good, somehow the head gears are a bit different from the image I saw on the internet. Nindroid Zane has the similar robot face. Anyway, there are many more Ninjago characters yet to come out.

SY220* Ghost Rider, Batman, Spidey

Finally, Ghost Rider is out by Sheng Yuan. This set consist of four boxes,
SY220A-CapA with bike,...I did not get this.

SY220B - Ghost Rider. The minifig is great, but the bike is not so "hot".... or cool.

I don't need that barbecue place...

SY220C - Similar Batman with a big Bat-spotlight. Among all Batman vehicles, this is so uncool.

SY220D - Same usual Spidey with the same Bike as Batman's, just wirh a "skin" change. Comes with a big Spider and Web. I should have omit this as I have a lot of similar Spidey, why they don't use a different Spidey, like the Iron Spidey, he has a cool bike. Actually, both the bike is similar from earlier SY210 CapA vs. Chitauri release.

SY360A Hulk Buster vs. Ultron

There have been many releases of Hulk Buster, from Decool's initial release of the Big figure series to the recent big boxes Hulk Buster releases from various BootlegO brands (SY357). Till now I have not bought any Hulk Buster figure yet. SY releases this new set of a medium sized Hulk Buster -(just slightly taller than those Hulk big fig, good scale ratio). Not bad looking, only thing is the Hulk Buster does not have the Big Hulk Buster Helmet face, but utilize the face of the smaller Iron Man inside. Well, in actual, this is just one of the Avenger in Mech releases - total 4 design.
This set comes with a nice mini Tony Stark laboratory, where Tony seems to be busy upgrading the Hulk Buster with a new Head Gear. Ultimate Ultron comes together with this set, but if you have bought most of the AOU SY minifigs release, the minifigs inside this set will be repeats.

SY219A - Mini Vulture Droid

The SY219 series from Sheng Yuan is from the Lego 2nd series Microfighters. As most of them I already bought the ori Lego, hence I did not get the SY bootlegs. Anyway, I did missed out one, which is the Vulture Droid. Basically, not bad, in fact, the fitting is good. Forget about the flick missiles (I never did like them), it is a sturdy build, and less than 1/3 of the ori price.

My elder son loves Transformers. Got these 3 sets, one suppose to be for my younger son, but he trade his transformer for his big bro's Minion. My son is can transform from robot mode to vehicle mode (and vice-versa) with ease, somehow I find it not that easy.. Do note that in Robot mode, its quite hard to get the Robot to stand as the joints are quite loose after many "transforms". All of them comes with a unique weapon. The height for these are around 18 to 20cm. Well, they do come in the Over Size Transformer line if you prefer a bigger model.

SY331 Ninja Thunder Swordman -Jay's Electromech

Another Ninjago set from Sheng Yuan - copied from LG 70754 set. It's Blue Jay in his electromech - 169+ pcs. My son says it look like the Hulk Buster. I know Kai (Red ninja) has an electromech, believe that one will look more like the Hulk Buster. Nice set, no loose parts. Some firing mechnasim not as good as ori lego, but, just think of the price difference. Come with 2 minifig, Jay and Chope. BELA has the same set, but the price of BELA is a bit cheaper than SY... wonder why.

Wange bricks,  mainly come out with their building series, either houses or famous architecture. Do not see any of their "brick" houses selling over my side, but saw them from the internet. Anyway, their famous architecture are nice. I like this Leaning Tower of Pisa, but for the kids, the build interest only last till the 3rd storey, after that I need to take over. 1392 pcs, hence takes quite some time to stack them up.

SY277 Snatch Beach - Boom Beach

What is this SY277 set based from? A movie? A TV series? A book? I haven't heard of Snatch beach. Searching the net comes out the result "SY277 Snatch Beach Island Jones Boom Beach" or "The Movie Snatch Beach Figures Military SWAT Soldier Minifigures Toys with Weapons". There is a Chinese word translated as "Snatch Beach Unique Army". Since their faces are not yellow, hence it cannot be those CITY personnel.
Later on my kid told me its actually a mobile strategy game from Supercell, sort of like COC. It is called BOOM beach. Minifig quite okay, but some do not really match the actual characters. Whats disappointing is the blue soldiers (Rifleman and Medic), they are already quite plain, but SY omits the detail of the Ace card and Medic Cross on the helmets, and Medic suppose to have White helmets.

SY335 Ninja - Dojo Showdown

This is copied from LG 70756 set. Total piece count is 250+. The Dojo seems small but quite a few interactive feature like the spinning blade bot, poison dart flick missiles (same normal flick missiles lah), with the chain or steps leading to the top of the Dojo (like a stage), but be careful to avoid falling through a trap door which leads to a suppose to be fire prison (but there's no back wall - a prison without walls?).  This set comes with 4 minifigs: Kai, Sleven, Griffin Turner and Karlof (big crushing hands). Good for Ninjago role playing, or just for display set.

BootLego and All Sorts

It has been one full year since I started this blog. Initially, this blog was created just for the memory of  the toys my kids and I spend our time together, as well as all the other items and activities of interest (the all sorts). It was never meant to be a review site for any toys or places.

Somehow due to the popularity of "BootLego-s", I find myself buying more mini figures (minifigs) and brick related toys vs.other, hence this blog have more posting on brick toys and minifigs rather than other type of toys. Hence, maybe I should rename the blog as "BootLego toys and all sorts".

I even find myself starting to collect them bootlego minifigs. This is because those minifig depicts the characters so well that it is a very good visual memory re caller for characters from movies, cartoons, comics, digital games, events and even famous celebrities, and them bootlegs brand made it more affordable and with more varieties. For those that collect minifigs (original or bootlegs) you will know how to relate to this. I don't really call myself a collector, I just collect what come (selling) at my area. I try my best not to buy duplicates of the same characters, but sometimes unavoidable. Below are some similar characters but different in one way or another .....

The minifig I have the most variant will of course be Iron Man, due to the various Mk armor suits he has. Spiderman and Batman have the most identical repeats due to the various big boxes and vehicle set purchased.

Even though this was never meant to be a review site, somehow the sharing of opinions and memory make this blog looks like another review site. Anyway, there are many good toys review sites out there, especially for bootlegos. For visitors who came to this site just to get some quick or short review, you're welcome. It has been one good year of Bootlegos (and for Dinosaur).
