Sembo Mini World Part 1

Let's go to Sembo Street.

Apple Store and 7- Eleven
Apple Store inside has a PC, Love those bulbs inside 7-11
Mc D - Happy Everyday and Nike Swoosh!
Nike store's transparent roof is unique
Like that menu board on the Coffee Cafe
No fryer hood and latte here
Channel and Ice Cream store
Open air top on the Ice Cream store
Unlike Hsanhe which only make one floor, Sembo make their mini street double storey, but, they sacrifice the interior details. After assembling these 8 designs, I am really a bit let down due to 2 of them have major missing parts (believe its just unlucky), good thing I am able to get replacements.
Comparing similar household brand of the mini street with Hsanhe, my kids love the designs from Hsanhe vs. Sembo (except 7-11), but there is something with mini streets that make them a nice and cute display set.

  1. Did you get the other streets? Want to take a look at the actual. Any comments regarding Sembo vs Hsanhe?
    Thanks

    1. Yes, not all, but most of them. Some not yet assemble. The kids prefer the design from Hsanhe, especially the interior. Sembo interior is simple.

    2. I am still thinking whether to get the new bigger Hsanhe (with minifig) for those fast food chain or this new Sembo ....

    3. If you already got the Hsanhe smaller set earlier, it kind of quite similar, only wider. and come with minifigs of the worker and customer for the store.

  2. You bought them all!

I bought the Nike shop for the orange windows, a colour not made by Lego, yet. There's another Sembo mini modular that comes with gold windows, again a colour not available in Lego.

7-11 does have very nice looking lightbulbs.

    1. Howdy again. Your MOC must be progressing well by now.
There are still 4 more designs yet to purchase (out of stock). The Ice Cream shop's door is golden, but no golden windows in these sets of 8.

  3. Oh yea the Ice Cream shop it is. Technically that's a window rite, not a door. Too bad there's only one golden window in the set. Not worth buying the entire set for it.

  4. As for my MOCs, they are still work-in-progress now and seems like going to be like forever.

Bricklink and sourcing for parts, in certain colours, within reasnable price range ... is a pain. A very long process.

    1. Well, perfection needs time. Hope one day you will be able to share the completed set for view.
Yep, even though bootlegos are cheap, but it can really adds up to quite an amount. Since you are sourcing ori bricks from Lego, it will be much much more.

  5. Lepin has cloned many Lego modular buildings recently. Are you buying any?

    1. I saw it in the net as well as other blogs. Nice, but the street pedler do not really sell Lepin. But, I did show him a picture and he says he will try to get one for me to try out. Expensive sets, will be tough for me to get them all. I am setting my sights on the Super Star Destroyer (damm X)

  6. Thanks to your photos, I just realise the coffee shop windows are actually dark brown. Lego have reddish brown but not dark brown. And this sembo set have quite a lot of windows isn't it? More than 6 I think?

    1. You're welcome. Yes, the SB Coffee shop have dark brown windows, and there are a total of 7pcs including the door (which as you mentioned, is also a similar piece to the window), but without the clear panel to be inserted. All the Sembo door's actually do not come with a clear panel, well, as the saying goes ..."Open the Door to Do Business"
