My second Lepin - Pet Store

My 2nd Lepin modular - the Pet Store. Although it is named the Pet Store, but this set actually consist of 2 buildings, hence there are two base plate. Takes quite a while to build as did not do it full time. Read from the net this modular set is already retired from TLG
Good day for a walk in the park
Nice kitchen with fire place
Lets start the renovation
Living it up in the Living room
Manning the Pet Store
A breath of fresh air
Nice bicycle at the front street
Complete front facade
The back details
Time to give some comments after two big Lepin brick set experience.
As mentioned earlier from the Palace cinema set, "Forever sorting" and finding the correct piece is really time consuming. Instruction for black and dark grey pieces is confusing and easy to get mixed up. Encountered in Palace cinema one lost piece, but pet stores has 5 wrong pieces. The thin base plate tends to warp. Clutching is just ok.
The good point - the Price. Anyway, base just on numerical value (ignoring the currency), the value is quite similar buying in USD for the original and one will have no worry on the above negative points.  For those who "can't afford", Lepin is still a good substitution. But since this is a retired set, the price difference is quite significant.

  1. Retired UCS set prices are just too ridiculously high, not just for modular.

    1. Yep, those retired UCS cost is just too much, even if there is no LP, will not even consider them retired set. Some can cost close to half of a new car.

  2. How do you go about those missing pieces? Will you consider buying more of these LP big modular sets after your experience on this 2 sets?

    1. Some of the missing parts I replace with some spares, some I practically need to cut and modify. Well, I always tell myself this is bootleg, and the price is the main factor, hence, will buy more if really wants the set.
