Hsanhe Mini Street 6401 - 6408

Second Hsanhe brick purchase after the first 3 in 1 SD Gundam box. The mini street series consist of 8 sets of building similar to the Lego (or Decool's copy) of mini Modular City series. Hsanhe mini street however seems like not copying any Lego release. is it Hsanhe's own creation?
The street building depicts famous brands like KFC, McD, 7-11, Nike, Apple, etc, but not exact copy of the brand's logo and name. For example, KFC is renamed KFE and Colonel Sander's picture is slightly altered with "shades". The apple logo's bite seems to look like the silhouette of Steve Job. I like this set, my girl who is not fond of the usual brick sets like this set. The size of the building is bigger than the Decool modular city. There are some not so good points with this set. Prepare to face some missing or incomplete molded pieces, although one can replaced with the different extra pieces, or similar spare pieces from other sets. The stickers quality is not that good with offset cutting and some a bit big to match the area to paste.. Anyway, for the price, great designs, and acceptable brick quality, these sets are a good fun build.

SY382 Pop Star Limo - Friends

Live the Star Life. SY came out with a few Lego Friends Pop Star 2015 Summer sets. SY382 (copy of Lego 41107 set) consist of 278pcs with the Limo as the main build of the set, and the Limo do look good, with opening doors and booth plus many accessories to live a star life. Also come with a red carpet walkway and an interview booth. Mini doll included are pop star Livi and Olivia, My kid love the limo-car even though he is a boy. The brick clutches is like usual SY quality (not very tight), but encounter in this set the red carpet barrier is very loose. There is a fruit bowl in the limo, SY replaces the (suppose to be) cherries inside with a BIG Green apple.

SY380 - Friends Pop Star Stage

This is a big box with 476+pcs. The mechanism for creating a pop star entrance is brilliant, glitters and all. Include 3 fabric skirts, microphone and a guitar. The front stage is modular, hence one can connect it in different layout with ease. The One disappointment, for a big box set, they only provide two mini-doll, Livi and Andrea. Ninja series easily gives 4 minifigs. This set copies Lego 41105 set.

SY350 Ninja - Kai Fighter

Not really big box, only consist of 210+pcs, but the fighter is great looking- hot. Come with General Cryptor and Kai. The wing span can be swung curve or extended straight, like F14 Tomcat. As with most SY, fitting (or clutch) is not tight. SY flick missiles, as usual, don't work well, bit tight. Anyway, good display set.

GUDI 9912- Cannonball cop blocks

B-DAMAN Lego – bootleg brick makers really have variations.Although it is cheaper if we buy the actual bootleg B-DAMAN set, but with added bricks building ability fun, and the feature of building 2 design from one same set of 111 pcs, hence it is okay.
This is the 2nd GUDI set I bought. GUDI bricks fitting quality is good, but the design do play an important role. Previously the Bumblebee set is quite loose in mech mode, but good and sturdy in car mode. My kid choose to build the vehicle ( sort of like a heli-jet plane) first. Yep, the fitting is good. The marble firing spring loaded mechanism is good. One need to change the instruction booklet design a bit as it is hard to put in the marble if we follow the design per the instruction. Have not build in B-DAMAN robot mode yet. Come together with 4 marbles (glass stone typed - not plastic) a paper target board - not much of use, and a really thick trading card. Total of 5 designs available, I just try out one first. Brick quality is superb, but as a B-Daman shooter, it do not have those successive firing capability.

My kid dismantle the jet after a week to make way for the B Daman mode. Most of the body part clutches quite well, but the head, especially those "horns", do fall off during play. So, as usual, robot mode is a bit fragile vs. vehicle mode. Still GUDI bricks is good quality.

SY387 Ninja - Sensei Wu White Dragon

This is a big box set release from SY copying LEGO ninjago 2015 summer "possession" wave 70734 set. This set contains a lot of builds, total of 622+ pieces, hence my kid spend a bit longer time building this set. 5 minifigures included in this set were Master Wu, Cole, Bow Master Soul Archer, Ghost Warrior Pitch and Ghost Ninja Hackler. Also included is Sensei Wu’s dog with a crossbow - nice.
The white dragon have many articulations (head, jaw, wings, tail, feet). If this year is the year of the dragon, this will be good CNY decor display. Caution, some parts is really tight fitting, especially those rods.

SY295 Heroes Assemble (again)

Sheng Yuan SY295, another Super Heroes series, but quite a number of new variant. Red and Green Batman ?... what happened to the phrase "I only do black, and sometimes very dark grey".
There's Falcon in CapA suit, a special addition minifig copied from Lego, the ori minifig cost a bomb. The figure I like best is Yellow Jacket - especially the Helmet with transparent yellow front. I did not get Dead Stroke as already bought earlier. Most of them has dual faces, Stark has a bruised eye while Red Batman has an ugly weird face (keep the mask on). Printing is SY quality, so, no worry. Ironman has side printing on arms and legs.

Happy Chinese New Year - Sak Dato Temple @ Broga,

CNY 2016 has arrived. Gong Xi Gong Xi - don't be Angry!

You looking at me? I say, you looking at ME?

This year is the year of the Monkey. Nothing to do?.. why not visit a temple? Sak Dato Temple 石拿督庙 is located at Broga, a small village in Negeri Sembilan Malaysia. I like the name, BROGA, sound foreign right? What's the attraction ?.... temple loh!
Anyway, apart from just a temple (which was built 140 years ago), there is a Long hanging Bridge to cross over, beautiful green scenery and fresh air, and with some added legs muscles (and lungs) work out, one can climb up a steep road leading to a BIG Sun Wu Kong (Monkey God) statue.

Sembo block - Angry Birds

I am too busy with CNY preparation, really got no time to do posting. Also, the street peddler is in New Year mood, selling mostly CNY stuff (crackers for kids), hence not much new stuff comes over my side. Anyway, got these Sembo Angry birds micro blocks from a store nearby. Piece count of each box varies from around 300+ to 400+, but the price are the same. I find the assembling not that easy (maybe due to the block size), but my kids able to manage it around an hour (more or less). Depend on the shape of the bird, those that shaped like and egg is much stronger (scientifically), while the triangular (chuck) is not that strong. Got all the birds, but only buy the King Pig.
