Ever play with Clay? This Magic Ball is kinda like clay molding, where one can make some funny faces and shapes out of a oblong shaped ball. The surface is actually made out from rubber. and don't feel like clay. Although it can be molded into the desired shape (to some extent), but it cannot be separated like clay. Fun for making funny faces, but not for long as there are limited shape we can do. (unlike clay). Suitable for introducing clay modelling to young kids but do not want the mess associated.

Building Blocks Builders
Got this builder brick set for the boys. Bought two model, one is a bulldozer, another is this dump truck. Somehow the bulldozer has been "bulldozed" by my kid, the pieces are all mixed up and some even broke. Only left this set. Quite nice, although the brick is Lego size, but the finished model is bigger, hence the mini figures is actually sort of Duplo size, and don't look like the normal Lego minifig.
Anyway, that's the good thing of imitation bricks, it don't cost a bomb and we do not really mind if the model is no longer assemble-able due to lost pieces.
The vehicle is actually a Pull back and Release Go type.

Young Justice SY 250
First I thought SY is making this up by "teenaging" a bunch of DC superheroes (Superboy, Yellow colored Kid Flash, Aqua Lad, etc) ; turn out there is an actual cartoon series on this, and by the look of it, there're a lot more characters to come. Nice set with many side bricks to build. The very first bootlego minifig purchased just come with a 4 stub base, now SY have many "side" decoration bricks and the base are way better.
I had a Black Superman, this set got a White Superman, I search the net and it says he is actually Superboy in a Solar suit.

Transformer Kre-O Grimlock Street Attack
Kre-O is quoted as a "Lego Compatible" brand, but being a bootlego, the price is not cheap, in fact, it cost close to Lego, as it is market under the Hasbro brand. Being the first Kre-O set bought, the quality is good. Really like Grimlock apart from the golden Optimus Prime.. My kid has a good first round playing with Grimlock Dino force attack, which is actually a magnet inside Grimlock's mouth. Only thing is the gold is not very "gold",but still a good set.
KreO mini figures is slightly different from Lego. The KreO mini figures is more articulated; they can spread their hands and legs and twist their waist. I actually like and prefer KreO minifig over Lego. Only thing is KreO do not come out with many characters.
In a way, Lego did not really come out with any Transformer minifig, so, we can't really say Kre-O is a bootleg.

Bro DLT la Bro Origins: Back To School
My kid bought this comic book for her friend's birthday. Somehow her friend already have it. So, we kept it. (bought another present), Quite a good read. Can relate back to the good ol -days
EVERY MADNESS HAS ITS BEGINNING...
Remember the time when we were just kids and things were much simpler?
Me neither.
Being a kid was not simple. It was tough. There were just so many things to keep track of. Cartoons, toys, snacks, school, homework and other kids' stuff. We had no money and we were supposed to listen to everything our parents and teachers said even when they did not make any sense.
But we still did whatever we liked anyway.
Excerpts from the book's intro:

The Plane-The plane
First Lego compatible brick set bought for my kids, an airplane set. The brand is Sluban. As my 9 years old is able to assemble it in a day, believe the fitting should be okay overall, The airplane head is a little bit not snapping tight together, but overall, the quality is acceptable. The minifigures is a bit different from original Lego, the head can tilt left and right. This set is no longer in its initial airplane form now, it has been dismantled and rebuild into many other "outcomes" and most of the pieces are actually lost. So, are you able to let your kids build "freely" with your Lego sets like what the :Lego Movie says?

Enlighten Air and Sea Fire Rescue Set
Bought this big fire rescue set (905) from Enlighten for my elder boy. Consist of a big helicopter, a boat and oil rig. This big set is actually not bad. The helicopter wheel is linked with the blades by a set of gears, hence when the wheels turn, the blades will also turn. Consist of 404 pieces, the fitting is actually quite good. This set is one of those big clone set that is actually still intact in its original form and not dismantled to be made into some other "thing". Anyway, one can actually make an air plane out of this set (but the instruction is only for the front cover illustration)

Legoland and Sar Wars Miniland
Trip to Legoland Malaysia. This time is to visit the Star Wars indoor miniland.
For us Star Wars fans, the exhibits is good. One thing, there are actually no mini figures used inside the exhibits. The figures are built up with Lego bricks.
(These images is from the net, but are the actual sets inside the miniland)

SY WWE
The LEGO movie
My kids like this movie. If you have watched it, you will know the message the movie is sending.
With Bootlego, you can let your kids build whatever they want. Original Lego, unless it is the Creator bucket set, normally will be in the design build of what they are meant to be. Maybe because the cost of original Lego is so much more expensive in our region that it is hard to just let the kids play with them. My experience with the imitation Lego (bootlego) sets, 100% of the time the pieces will be missing after a few rounds of play. For LEgo, we normally buy to collect, for bootlego, we can collect and play.

TAIKONGSHENRS Bumblebee
Due to my kids "comments" on the GREEN Bumblebee construct bot earlier, bought the below one which looks more closer to the original Bumblebee. My young one likes to turn Bumblebee into car form (yes, a Camaro) and not Autobots form. (Should just get a car for him, much cheaper). There's no instruction on how to change, but the elder one figure it out. The plastic is quite thin, so, don't force it. If the joints break, can easily snap back into place like a construct bots.
My elder son commented that this Bumblebee don't look good from the back view. He is correct,, as the maker actually just make the front side in detail. Since this toy has to transform into a car, the maker have to make the back concave (like a mask) to house the frame. For this low price, it's okay as the finishing detail of Bubblebee do look like the actual one from Transformer 4.

Transform Bots 2
Even though the first 3 purchase is not to my expectation, but my kids likes it. So, bought another three Taikongshenrs Construct bots - Starscream, Bumblebee and CliffJumper. The most disappointing one among the three is Bumblebee. We know that bootleg toys have a way with colors, but why they want to make Bumblebee GREEEN, and match with Blue (What the??). .But we saw from the net it is actually Yellow (with blue like below). Without yellow it is no more Bumblebee, more like Greenhornet.
The best and closest resemblance from the actual among this 3 is Cliffjumper, at least the color is correct - RED. Basically, all the 6 purchased transform into some similar car or plane mode.
Oh yes, one can actually construct and customize a huge robot out of these sets .... so, prepare for a BIG mess up, and missing parts ... its a Toy.

DIY Armored Heroes
Got this set not from a toy store, but from a DIY store. Well, bricks toy is consider DIY right? Anyway, Mr DIY seems to be selling the Ausini bricks toy vs, other places.
Ausini bricks is just okay. Some of the fitting between bricks is loose. The arms is not locked (free to swing). My point of view, "Enlighten" brand is slightly better for a Lego bricks clone.

SD Gundam Clone
Another Gundam Clone brand. The plastic and finished look is okay, only sometimes the color differs and thickness is a bit thin (easy to break). Better if paint instead of using the stickers provided. The fitting is not accurate, having gaps (hard to enclosed together, some is just too tight), but the joints are good. Not as loose as the previous clone. If you want a good model kit, buy the original, if you want a "toy" and let your kids play with it until it breaks, then can consider this.
After fixing one, I need to give this brand as a NOT recommended buy, the fitting is just too hard, and the matching is just not accurate for a kid to do it. My kid find it too hard to put together - he says this brand is "hard labor". So, making this model is no longer just some simple clip and click, but includes also trim, sand, press, glue, refine, etc.etc. But if you can get through all this tedious task, the finished outcome is OK. (some toys rate their difficulty level *** or ****, but these are F***©# )
