Gudi - Bumblebee in brick form

Another new brand, GUDI. Is is as good as it sound? (Goody)
The design is animation Bumblebee in Brick form. Price wise, not so Goody, somehow SY mech releases is cheaper with almost similar piece count. Well, plastic is okay, finished outlook is good, but the design is not so brilliant as it is hard to make Bumblebee stand up properly due to the connection is just too weak to support his body. Many connection is either single or dual studs, hence easily come off when we are articulating the joints, even just holding it.  Anyway, it is a 2 in 1, where one can build the car instead of the Autobot. Believe the car will be sturdier.
We got an Autobot by our side , let's GO!
Size comparison with Shell Ferrari
Car mode is sturdier (yes, the door can be open) but somehow seems smaller

HSANHE 6209 - Creative

Once awhile there some brick brands that is quite good in quality. Hsanhe's fitting and plastic is quite consider good. The finish model have some loose parts (even SY have), but believe it is due what we are building, which here it is a SD Gundam typed of robot. Believe if we use this bricks to build a different design, it will be better
The outer box listed 4 in 1, where we can build three different design Gundam, and two different aircraft. Well, yes - we can build 4 design, but the catch here is we can only build them separately and not 4 at once.  Okay, we can build the 2 mini aircraft at the same time, but the SD Gundams have to be build one at a time. Yep - need to dismantle the previous before we can build another design, that is why they equipped us with two brick removal tool. If we buy another box, we can build a big Gundam.
The two aircraft - look like an X-Wing
The blue SD Gundam (Policewoman minifig for size comparison)
The Red Gundam  -  The Blue Robot is created by my kid with the remaining pieces as a Villain

Ausini Armor Heroes and Sluban Sub

Got two small Ausini Armored Heroes, the Red guy (my little boy likes red) and the Black guy. For RM3+, there are quite a number of pieces to assemble (min 60 pcs). Ausini fitting is quite loose, so, some of the assembly easily fall off - especially the arms. But, I find the finished figures look quite good.

Got the Sluban brand Nuclear Sub. This model has a scale of 1:350, seems like it is modeled from a real sub. Maybe it is a Chinese sub. Fitting is good. Nice for display as it also provide us a display stand made from bricks. Some sellers are selling this set as part of a 4 in 1 set consisting of a Carrier, Cruiser, Destroyer and Sub. The carrier measures 890mm in length, really plan to get it if it comes to my area. The only thing not good with this set is the stickers, the quality is "too good". Well, the sticker plastic is real thick, hence when we stick on a curve surface, it will not stay stick.

SY303 Iron Man Armor disassembly platform

This set has been out for quite awhile, undecided to buy it as it is pricey for a small set, although the piece count are 217pcs. Anyway, decided to get it finally. SY is already known for its "not so tight" fitting (vs. Lego), hence due to the design of this set is really flimsy if one is to play with it, it can easily fall apart, especially the big circular part. Nice for display. I don't have the full red Iron man that came with this set, but it is kinda familiar.....

Start copying, machine!
TAA DAA! Now there's two of me.
The Red color in this iron man is similar with the Avenger Assemble Iron man without the torso gold. I think this is Mk3, while the one with the torso gold bit is Mk4?45? ...

Decool King Steerer

Believe this is Decool's Technic series. The mechanism is good. Bought the 3344 Rescue Car and 3347 Telehandler. Both of these are just slightly above 100 pcs per set. A good construction set to let your kids learn about mechanical of things. Just that the set is a bit small. Will get more (and bigger boxes) if the street peddler bring in more stocks. Normally the street peddler I frequent will not take in those big boxes as it will increase his holding cost, impact is more if he is not able to sell it off..
.....DOWN.......
....UP..., hoo, this is fun!

Variety Soldier - Kreo compatible

Some said Kreo is a Lego imitation (or compatible) brick toy, but today I got a Boot-Kreo instead of a bootlego. Yep, a minifigure similar with the minifigure from Kreo. Similar leg and waist articulation, and it is of the transformer characters, although it is not base on any specific characters from the Transformer movie, but there's a transformer 4 logo on the box.
We can build in robot or vehicle mode. Since it is just minifig size, so, there's not much detail in vehicle mode. Interlocking is not good (very loose), but the figures is OK. Under the YG brand, they call these the "Variety Soldier" (instead of Transformer) with a caption "Cool bricks contains more room for imagination" (ha ha).
These do not come with a base - The base is from JLB
One can buyball for box per set to make a bigger Variety soldier

Building Blocks Builders

Got this builder brick set for the boys. Bought two model, one is a bulldozer, another is this dump truck. Somehow the bulldozer has been "bulldozed" by my kid, the pieces are all mixed up and some even broke. Only left this set. Quite nice, although the brick is Lego size, but the finished model is bigger, hence the mini figures is actually sort of Duplo size, and don't look like the normal Lego minifig.
Anyway, that's the good thing of imitation bricks, it don't cost a bomb and we do not really mind if the model is no longer assemble-able due to lost pieces.
The vehicle is actually a Pull back and Release Go type.

The Plane-The plane

First Lego compatible brick set bought for my kids, an airplane set. The brand is Sluban. As my 9 years old is able to assemble it in a day, believe the fitting should be okay overall, The airplane head is a little bit not snapping tight together, but overall, the quality is acceptable. The minifigures is a bit different from original Lego, the head can tilt left and right. This set is no longer in its initial airplane form now, it has been dismantled and rebuild into many other "outcomes" and most of the pieces are actually lost. So, are you able to let your kids build "freely" with your Lego sets like what the :Lego Movie says?

The minifigs that came with this set

Enlighten Air and Sea Fire Rescue Set

Bought this big fire rescue set (905) from Enlighten for my elder boy. Consist of a big helicopter, a boat and oil rig. This big set is actually not bad. The helicopter wheel is linked with the blades by a set of gears, hence when the wheels turn, the blades will also turn. Consist of 404 pieces, the fitting is actually quite good. This set is one of those big clone set that is actually still intact in its original form and not dismantled to be made into some other "thing". Anyway, one can actually make an air plane out of this set (but the instruction is only for the front cover illustration)

Transform Bots 2

Even though the first 3 purchase is not to my expectation, but my kids likes it. So, bought another three Taikongshenrs Construct bots - Starscream, Bumblebee and CliffJumper. The most disappointing one among the three is Bumblebee. We know that bootleg toys have a way with colors,  but why they want to make Bumblebee GREEEN, and match with Blue (What the??). .But we saw from the net it is actually Yellow (with blue like below). Without yellow it is no more Bumblebee, more like Greenhornet.

The best and closest resemblance from the actual among this 3 is Cliffjumper, at least the color is correct - RED. Basically, all the 6 purchased transform into some similar car or plane mode.
Cliffhanger
Oh yes, one can actually construct and customize a huge robot out of these sets .... so, prepare for a BIG mess up, and missing parts ... its a Toy.

DIY Armored Heroes

Got this set not from a toy store, but from a DIY store. Well, bricks toy is consider DIY right? Anyway, Mr DIY seems to be selling the Ausini bricks toy vs, other places.
Ausini bricks is just okay. Some of the fitting between bricks is loose. The arms is not locked (free to swing). My point of view, "Enlighten" brand is slightly better for a Lego bricks clone.

Treasure Hunt Sub

Small brick set from Enlighten bought for my small boy. He get his brothers help to build the sub. I find this set OK. Plastic quality is not quite Lego quality, but fitting is acceptable and good enough for my kids to play and be happy with.

LOZ Gundam

Try out another building block brand - LOZ. The building blocks are tiny. Every part of the model need to be build with small tiny blocks, hence making the model "pixel" like. The assembly is quite tedious, and some of the fitting are loose. It's hard to pose the figures as the small socket ball joints just cannot support the weight of the big gun or shield assembly, even the limbs.
I believe LOZ others series of mini animals, super heroes or architecture should fare better (although I have not tried them before), but the iROBOT series just does not goes down well with me.
Still you will have 560+ pieces of tiny-blocks to play with, and using your imagination, you can actually build a lot of miniature figures out of these, but my kids prefer the Lego sized bricks. Beware, they are tiny, so can easily get LOZ.

Transform Warrior QLT

The box art
Due to the recent Transformer 4 movie, many toys manufacturers have come out with the transformer theme.. Got this brick building toy by QiaoLeTong (QLT). There's 8 designs to choose from - my kid prefers the Army Tank. The bricks is solid, some pieces is a bit hard to fit together, but still my 9 years old is able to complete the tank.
Somehow he accidentally perform a "drop test" on the tank from about 3.5 feet high to the concrete floor. Crash! Only four to 5 pieces from the tank's edge fell off (this shows how solid it is built), but one of the wheel axle broke, which shows how fragile the plastic is. Good thing there's one additional axle (for making the robot) inside the box. One down side about QLT set, istheir stickers is not those clear plastic stickers, but just (ugly) paper stickers.
Those stickers really s**ks

At the same time got this smaller robot-jeep for my younger kid. He chooses to build the robot instead.(help from his big brother) The quality of the bricks and fitting is similar to the tank set. One plus point, for this set, the robot head is made out of rubbery plastic (durable and good!). We can only choose to build either the vehicle or the robot, it do not transform by a few twist and folds, but need to dismantle and rebuild.

After one day, the kids comes out with their own design
